The doctor will first take an impression of your teeth and send it to the lab where they use it to fabricate the aligners.
The dental laboratory then generates a set of progressive trays, which move your teeth into a desired position over a period of time.
A new tray is swapped out at regular checkups until the desired alignment is reached.
