Anyone Can Experience A Dental Emergency
With the arrival of September and summer coming to a close, we know that many of our patients are getting back into their fall routines, whatever that means for their families. Some of our patients are heading back to school or college, others are starting fall sports, and others are going back to a regular work schedule. No matter what is going on in your life, it is important to be mindful of your oral health. Unfortunately, a dental emergency can happen at any time.
What to Do in a Dental Emergency?
If you experience any form of dental emergency, the most important thing is to remain calm and assess the situation. Be sure to contact our office as soon as possible, as we can walk you through what to do. If we recommend an office visit and treatment, it is important to do that as soon as you can. Thankfully, with advancements in treatments and technology, we can fix any problem you may experience. We are also able to treat the children in your family, as you can see from the before and after pictures above.
How to Prevent an Emergency
One of the best ways to prevent a dental emergency is to schedule routine oral hygiene examination appointments in our office. During routine hygiene examinations, we can check your mouth for signs of decay as well as gum disease and oral cancer. Early detection of oral health problems and immediate treatment are the best ways to prevent an issue from progressing further. Unfortunately, dental issues do not heal on their own and continue to worsen until eventually you experience a dental emergency or need a tooth extraction. While an emergency can happen at any time, your risk is higher if you do not receive routine dental care. We want to do everything we can to prevent that from happening.
If you or a loved one experiences a dental emergency, be sure to contact our office, which is located in West Chester, OH. We will give further instructions based on your situation. If you or a loved one is in need of a routine oral hygiene examination, now is a great time to schedule your appointment. Wishing you a happy and healthy fall!
